Care, consent, and attunement — a gentle, human-first approach to sound therapy.

Hello, I’m Laura Syer.

I hold space for people to rest, feel, and reconnect. My work is slow and spacious — built around breath-led pacing, careful listening, and instruments played with intention rather than volume. I believe the body knows how to unwind when given warmth, safety, and time.

How I Work
  • Consent every step: clear check-ins, opt-in choices, and the ability to pause or stop anytime.
  • Nervous-system informed: gentle sound (never overwhelming), long exhales, and moments of silence for integration.
  • Personalised to you: I adapt tempo, proximity, and instruments to your preferences and sensitivities.
  • Trauma-aware stance: invitational language, no forced “release,” and plenty of grounding.
  • Aftercare: simple practices you can take home — breath, journaling prompts, and soft routines for rest.

Training & Influences

My approach to sound healing is shaped by both traditional wisdom and contemporary therapeutic insights, enriched by my academic and professional background. Over the years, I have studied and practiced with a range of modalities that inform the way I hold space:

  • Foundations in therapeutic sound — singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, tuning forks and voice work

  • Nervous-system regulation & breathwork fundamentals — supporting deep rest and resilience

  • Somatic awareness & trauma-sensitive principles — creating safe, grounded, and inclusive sessions

  • Contemplative listening & slow facilitation — honoring silence and presence as part of the healing process

  • International Certified Level 2 Sound Healing Practitioner (Sound Healing Academy UK)

  • BSc in Mathematics — bringing clarity, precision, and an analytical lens to the structure of sound and resonance

  • Extensive experience with gems and minerals — years of working closely with crystals and natural stones through my holistic jewelry brand, deepening my understanding of their vibrational qualities and symbolic power

This blend of scientific training, mineral wisdom, and therapeutic sound practice allows me to meet each client with sensitivity, professionalism, and creativity — drawing on both structure and intuition.

What Sessions Feel Like
  1. Arrival: tea, a warm welcome, and a short chat about your needs that day.
  2. Settling: choose to lie down or sit; blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows available.
  3. Sound journey: live instruments with plenty of space for breath and silence.
  4. Integration: slow re-entry, water/tea, and time to ask questions or rest a little longer.

Scope & Safety
  • Sound therapy is a complementary practice and not a substitute for medical care.
  • If you have a pacemaker, epilepsy, are in the first trimester of pregnancy, or live with acute sound sensitivity/tinnitus, please consult a healthcare professional and let me know in advance so I can adapt the session.
  • Volume remains gentle by default; I can reduce intensity further and increase distance on request.

Who I Work With
  • Individuals — for those seeking deep rest, nervous-system regulation, or gentle support during times of transition.

  • Couples and families — creating shared moments of quiet connection, helping loved ones to reconnect and strengthen bonds.

  • Small groups and teams — offering screen-free restoration, fostering calm, focus, and a sense of togetherness in a supportive space.

  • Corporate settings — tailored sessions that ease workplace stress, encourage mindfulness, and support overall staff wellbeing.

  • Retreat workshops — immersive sound journeys woven into broader programs of renewal, reflection, and holistic growth.

Values
  • Kindness: come exactly as you are — no performance, no pressure.
  • Respect: your boundaries guide the shape of the session.
  • Inclusivity: all identities and bodies are welcome; accessibility matters here.
“The first place I felt my shoulders drop in months. Quiet, human, and unhurried.”
